The thing is, I adore black and white images, I always have. It’s maybe the timeless feel they have or the fact that it seems to just evoke so much emotion. Anyway I can’t quite put my finger on it but I do love monochrome.
Somewhere at the start of my wedding photography journey a well known wedding blog told me I had too many black & white images for them to feature my work. I think this affected me a little and caused me to lean towards colour images more even though often my heart was screaming “this images needs to be black & white!” It’s funny how we let other peoples opinions influence us, like we need their permission or affirmation to be happy with our work. At this stage of my career/life I think I’m over that, I’m not too fussed whether a wedding blogger likes my work, for me the only people that matter really are my couples, if they love the images I supply then I have done what I set out to do.
So all that being said, for a while I’ve been wanting to blog a whole wedding in black and white and today is the day!!! This won’t get featured but I’m cool with that!
Niall & Jess’ Tinakilly House wedding last summer was such a blast, the whole day was filled with laughter and tender moments. These guys welcomed me into their world for a day and it was a genuine pleasure to a part of it all.
