Josh & Sofia flew in from Tulsa, Oklahoma for this one. They wanted an adventure session on the Causeway Coast before heading home, and the coast delivered in the way it almost always does – dramatically, and without any warning.
At one point Josh looked up and said “look, the rain is coming in, and it looks so awesome.” That’s exactly what I want to hear. The couples who get the best photos from their time here are the ones who lean into whatever the weather decides to do rather than fight it. The rain, the wind, the low cloud sitting over the clifftops – none of it is a problem. It’s the whole point.
Josh and Sofia were that kind of couple from the start.

Why the Causeway Coast works so well for a session like this
I’ve been photographing couples on the Causeway Coast since 2014, and I still think it’s one of the most photogenic stretches of coastline on the planet. There’s nothing sterile or manicured about it. The cliffs drop straight into the Atlantic. The castle ruins have been sitting on the cliff edges for centuries. The light changes constantly – sometimes within a single hour you’ll get mist, gold, grey, and a break of sun that turns the sea almost blue-green.
For a couple who wants something that actually looks and feels like Ireland – not a postcard version of it, but the real thing – the Causeway Coast is hard to beat. Planning your own Ireland engagement session
Most of the couples I work with come from the US and are planning their trip remotely. They’re not familiar with the locations, don’t know how the weather works here, and are trying to figure out logistics from 3,000 miles away. That’s exactly what I’m here to help with.
