Ok so Ballyfin Demesne weddings are on a different level, this place is AMAZING! When the drive from the entrance to the main building takes you nearly 10 minutes through stunning scenery, you know it’s going to be a good day at the office! The house did not disappoint, it felt like I’d stepped into an episode of the Crown, the rooms, decor & artwork are just stunning. If you’re planning a luxury destination wedding in Ireland, you need to check Ballyfin Demesne out.
To make this day even better, Ian, Lesley and their friends & family were an absolute joy to be around. Everyone was so warm and kind. Some weddings just have a great energy and this one had that in abundance. It’s a great reflection on a couple when they have such a great friendship group. When you’re documenting a wedding, you’re chasing moments, listening for who is laughing, at this wedding there were great moments and laughter everywhere. I was in my element!!!
One of my favourite parts of the day has to be the ceremony, it was so special. The emotions were so strong, Ian & Lesley are real “hearts on sleeves” people, genuinely one of the most beautiful ceremonies I’ve witnessed (I may have even shed a tear myself).
Another thing I adore about shooting destination weddings for American couples travelling to Ireland is the party. I just LOVE how the dance floor just goes off from the first song.
So here is Ian & Lesley’s wedding story, I hope you enjoy it!
